Wave goodbye to Google Wave

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

So it looks like Google has given up on Wave, its experiment on computer-mediated communication. While I always liked the idea of Wave, I felt that the way that Google had implemented it fell short of it being a usable tool for groups. One of the most egregious problems with Wave was how difficult it […]

Collaborative wireframing

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

I just read this post by Morten Just about using Google Docs’s new Google Drawings to create wireframes that can be easily shared with your collaborators because they live in the clouds. Morten even generously offers templates for people who design websites so if this is part of your work routine, you may want to […]

Collaborative editing software

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

A couple of finds over at ReadWriteWeb for editing groupware.
First up, Squad, a web-based collaborative editor aimed squarely at programmers. There’s a basic free version but if you need more, you’ll have to be ready to pay up a monthly bill.

Riding the Wave

Friday, November 13th, 2009

I just got a Google Wave invite after begging Google for one some weeks ago. Which is ironic, since I already got one a week or so ago from a friend in my guild. I poked at it the first day, decided it looked like I didn’t know anyone else with Wave and left it […]

Be that as it may, the 22nd Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work will be held in Savannah, Georgia, USA from February 6 to 10, 2010. February? Oh, they’re making changes at CSCW: the conference is now going to […]

CSCW 2008 stuff

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Just getting around to checking over the papers that were published at CSCW 2008. There was a workshop on virtual worlds and collaboration - I should go through those papers. There was also a workshop on social networking in organizations. And of course there’s the proceedings in the ACD Digital Library which I should check.

ECSCW 2009

Friday, September 19th, 2008

The 11th European Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work will be held next year in Vienna, Austria, from the 7th to the 11th of September.
As usual, all things groupware and CSCW are welcome as subjects. They don’t seem to have a special theme this year.
Full and short papers are due on the 6th of March. […]
