Happy holidays everyone

Yesterday was the last day to submit a paper to Graphics Interface 2010, so I was busy yesterday and today doing chairperson-y stuff; more specifically, figuring out which member of the Program Committee should be in charge of which paper for the reviewing process. Not an easy task, although I do like the support that Precision Conference Systems gives you for that. As long as the PC member has filled out their expertise choices, the website can calculate how good a match there is between the paper and the reviewer. Of course, this is no help for those people who forgot to fill out their expertise, of which I had a couple. So I had to guesstimate what papers those people were best suited for.
My own fault really. I forgot to ask people to do that when I first sent them the information about the PCS website, and I had to send out a reminder email late last week about it. I am sure that there were several of the PC members who were already away on vacation for the holidays. Oh well. The distribution is done now.
By the way, you can volunteer to review papers for GI2010. I can’t guaranty that you’ll be picked as a reviewer since each PC member is in charge of finding their own reviewers, but you never know.
