My Professional Work

Here you can access descriptions to my work projects, my publications, and the list of hyperlinks I maintain on HCI and related fields.

Academic Background

My background is in the "human" side of HCI: I did a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology at the Université de Montréal. My thesis was on the differences in conceptual information between experts and novices. I worked in Australia for five years developing a computer-based training system for the local electrical board. This made me realize that I enjoyed working on practical stuff, and so I went back to graduate school, to obtain an M.Sc. in cognitive ergonomics from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal.

Volunteer Work

I am the Program Chair on HCI for Graphics Interface 2010.

I was on the organising committee for the Ottawa chapter of World Usability Day from 2005 to 2007.

I was on the organising committee for CapCHI from 2004 to 2008. I was the treasurer for the Ottawa Usability Consortium from 2005 to 2007.

I was the treasurer for CSCW 2006.

I am one of the officers in my World of Warcraft guild since 2007. I organized dungeon and raid events for the guild on a weekly basis from 2007 to 2009.
